Information Regarding Auditions

Randolph Theater Company was established years ago as Randolph Community Theater and has since grown into one of the premiere theater groups in the area. Our members range from ages 3 to 78. We present at least two shows each year. Here is what you'll need to know about auditions:

• Upon arrival you will be given a form to complete. The form will have information about the show, rehearsals and financial commitments. Because you will be required to sign, if you are under 18 you will need a parent or guardian to accompany you to the audition.
• If we are presenting a musical, you will be required to sing. You should bring a song that shows your range/vocal type at its best. If you are thinking of yourself as an character player, then you should choose a song that shows that best. It need NOT be from the show. We'll provide an accompanist (bring your own sheet music please, unless you want to sing something from the show, full scores will be available for use.)
• You will also be asked to read a scene(s) from the script along with others.
• You need only attend one night of auditions though many people come both nights.

After the audition you will be notified by phone if you are cast and what part you have received. If cast, you will be given a day and time to attend the first rehearsal. If you are not cast, or didn't get the part that you wanted, do not be discouraged. Often times, we simply don't have enough parts for the many people who audition. Auditioning is a matching process. It is important that we carefully match individual actors with other actors as well as scripted characters that have specific qualities envisioned by the playwright and the director.

The cost to be in the show is $25 which is payable during the first few weeks of rehearsal. You may pay by check, cash or you may obtain an advertisement for the program book.

Audition dates for INTO THE WOODS are Tuesday, January 5th and Wednesday January 6th at 6:30 pm at Stetson Hall, 6 South Main Street, Randolph, MA.

Show Dates for INTO THE WOODS are March 19, 20, 26, and 27 at 7:30 pm and March 21 at 2:00 pm at Stetson Hall, 6 South Main Street, Randolph, MA.
